From the first kiss as a married couple to your bridesmaids dancing the night away at the reception, your wedding day is full of moments to cherish for a lifetime, and what better way to relive those heartfelt moments year after year than with a specular wedding album? Since there are many moments, you’ll enjoy on your big day, we’ve collated our top picks for moments to capture that will truly capture the magic and emotion of your special day.
Getting Ready
A big portion of the day involves the bride and groom preparing for the ceremony, full of candid yet heartfelt moments. From the wedding dress hanging up in the bridal suite, a bridesmaid zipping up the bride and the mother of the bride placing her necklace on to the groom styling his hair, the best man adjusting his cufflinks, and the father of the groom sharing a joyful glass of champagne, these are moments you ma forget to capture but will cherish for decades to come.
Walking down the Aisle
When the ceremony begins, there are several entrances you will want to capture. The groom surrounded by the best man and groomsmen, the parents and the Flowergirl and/or ring bearer, and of course the bride making her grand entrance. These are the butterfly in the stomach moments that will excite you for a lifetime. When the bride walks down the aisle, be sure to capture the look on the groom’s face when he first sees her in her wedding dress.
First Kiss
Once the vows have been taken, it’s time to capture your first moment as a married couple. The first kiss is one of my most joyful moments of the wedding day so you’ll want to immortalize this.
The Wedding Party
Once the ceremony is over, the official portraits begin. Two families have now become one so a traditional photo is a great method to acknowledge this. We recommend a photo with the two families, one with the parents, one with grandparents, one with any siblings the couple have before bringing everyone together, and finally the participating wedding party. If you’re lucky enough to have great weather you can play around with the location to make your photos stand out.
Couple Portraits
The couple portrait focuses on your new journey as a married couple so can be as traditional or innovative as you like. Whether you’re using personalized leather jackets or keep it minimalist under the beaming sunlight, this is your chance to personalize the wedding album. Depending on your venue and the time of year you’re getting married you can recreate the proposal or be running in the snow. Either way, the romantic interaction between the two of you will one of the dreamiest shots of the day.
Detail Shots
The finishing touches often make a wedding what it is and these are things you’ll definitely want in the wedding album. Before the wedding, be sure to capture the rings, bouquets, and boutonnieres without anyone in the shot and at the reception, the elegant touches from the wedding cake to the centerpieces adds a touch of opulence to any wedding album.
Couple Exit
Finally, leaving your wedding reception for your wedding night for your honeymoon is a fantastic opportunity to capture the candid emotion you’re feeling. From confetti being thrown to the bridesmaid and groomsmen holding sparklers as your exit, be sure to use this moment to document your emotions of the day!
